June 2007

Mary in Pakistani clothes headed to a Somalian wedding.
Our neighbor and the bride in her first of 4 outfits for the night.
Other neighbors.
The colors of the women's dresses were so varied and brilliant - but the style of each identical.
The men were having a separate party - both begin at midnight and end around 5 AM - and the groom and his friends arrived at the bride's party around 3 AM when I was leavivng :)

Anna loves her grandaddy - Happy Father's Day!

Delicious food at Turkish wedding.
A few of the many cousins of the bride.Gublatan, the matriarch of the bride's family.
We were all partying hard the whole wedding - LOTS of dancing, wine flowing - but the bride and groom can barely look up and never crack a smile - only the tiniest movements to say "thank you" for the many toasts throughout the evening.

Noel from Burundi - 14

Anna exploring Milan park near our home. We now have a playgroup there every other week.

Anna having a quiet moment - what goes on behind those big, brown eyes?
We went to the zoo - thanks Alysia! - but we were so busy and hot, this is the only picture I got - Mr. Panda - the girls loved him 'cause he was so close to the glass and they could get right up next to him and talk.
Rachel loves slides, call them "sides"

Adam and Rachel swimming at Lake Lanier

Our Kurdish friend Fahima and Anna - we all swim in our clothes! (except the babies)

2 of Fahima's sisters - Joozan and Soozan

Fahima's dad Hussein helps Burundian Jackie learn to swim! Our wonderful new American friends - Silas, Alysia, and Anna
